5K Walking Program

The Walking 5K training program takes place from August 19, 2008 through November 2, 2008. Its target race is the November 2, 2008, Rockville 5K race. If you have not been active at all, and/or you have reservations about your fitness level, check with your physician to see if this program is appropriate for you. The Walking Program focuses on incrementally increasing walking duration and speed. To facilitate friends and family participation in a fitness activity that is just right for each member, the walking training takes place in conjunction with the 5K Coed Runners program. Once again, we welcome the partnership with Potomac Community Resources

Please note that beginning April 2008 and continuing until this program begins, there is a free, informal-drop-in walk/run offering each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 PM at King Farm Park. King Farm Park is located at the corner of Deer Meadow and Grand Champion. Ask for Lisa Daigle.
